The partnership
Bridgend Sustainable Food Partnership launched in January 2024. We are hosted by Bridgend County Borough Council.
We are a network of people from a range of organisations coming together with a shared desire to make change!
We aim to benefit everyone in Bridgend County Borough by ensuring sustainable and healthy food is accessible to all. Our focus is on a collaborative coordinated approach across the whole food system.
The Bridgend Sustainable Food Partnership aims to transform the local food system to ensure that healthy, sustainable, and locally produced food is accessible to everyone in Bridgend County Borough. Our work addresses rising food insecurity, health inequalities, and environmental challenges while supporting a thriving local food economy. Through collaboration between community groups, businesses, schools, and public bodies, the Partnership focuses on five strategic aims: Healthy Food for All, Good Food Movement, Transform Catering & Procurement, Food for the Planet, and a Sustainable Food Economy. By integrating education, local procurement, community engagement, and sustainable practices, this strategy sets a clear path for a resilient, equitable, and environmentally responsible food system.

Mission
To create a sustainable and healthier Bridgend for all levels of society across the county borough including all towns and valleys.
We will engage communities and collaborate cross sector to create a more equal and nourishing food system involving grass roots organisations to influence strategy, taking in account all aspects of the food system from growing, distributing, cooking, educating, influencing demand, the public plate, governance, food businesses and considering food waste.
